Lessons Learned From...Sunrises.

Wanna know a secret? I like sunrises more than sunsets.

Okay, so it's not exactly my deepest, darkest secret, but I think most people tend to prefer sunsets. Maybe because they're not awake for the sunrise?

Don't get me wrong, sunsets are beautiful. But there's something about the promise of a brand new day that motivates me. A sunrise is a clean slate.

This is my favorite part of the sunrise:

Right at the beginning, when everything is dark except for a little bit of orange along the horizon.

It reminds me that in the midst of darkness, there is hope. Hope for a new day, a new start, a new beginning.

And that encourages me.

This week, I want to avoid dwelling on mistakes I make and trials I go through and instead remember that things will get better. Every dark night ends in a sunrise.

  1. As one of those people who is not awake for the sunrise, your eloquent words encourage me to the point that I can actually imagine myself getting up early....not actually do it, but imagine it. :) Well written and and definitely inspiring!
