High Five for Friday: I Didn't Totally Waste My Week.

Good news, y'all! I actually did some stuff this week other than watch One Tree Hill. (Though, let's be honest, I did get through another three seasons).

I really have nothing else to say so I'll just get right to it.

1. As I mentioned last week, Friday we went down to Austin for my cousin's graduation. I majorly underestimated how many graduates there would be. I was thinking like...50-100. There were 1200. So that was a surprise. Here's a picture of me in front of the Capitol. I made my dad pull over and take one since it was my first time in Austin.

2. Saturday, I went to a crafting party at my coworker's apartment. I made a baby shower card and a bookmark! Look how crafty I am:

3. The verdict is in on my shellac experiment: it started chipping at about a week and a half, and I got it completely removed at just under 3 weeks. It probably would have lasted a little longer without chipping if I hadn't been picking at it. Anyway, I got my nails done again because it looked so good last time and I think 3 weeks of perfect nails is worth the $30.

4. It's graduation week! I went to a graduation party on Wednesday night and a ceremony last night. The ceremony was at the school I graduated from, so it was fun to see some familiar faces.

5. I got invited to an interview fair for one of the school districts I applied for. All the principals in the district with openings will be there accepting resumes. Getting invited means that they accepted my application and I'm eligible to teach in that district! That gives me hope and I'm equal parts excited and nervous for the fair.

I have a few fun things planned for this weekend, and Monday is Memorial Day so I have the day off! I'll be using it to spice up my resume and research exactly what to say to potential future employers for the interview fair on Thursday. Anyway, happy Friday and enjoy your three day weekend!

  1. I would love the visit the Capitol one day. And that dress you're wearing is gorgeous!
And I totally agree about shellac nails...it's DEFINITELY worth the $30. I work with my hands, so normal manicures just aren't going to cut it!

    Have a good 3-day weekend!
