Our Wedding Day!

I am so excited to share with you the details of our wedding day! We got our pictures back last week and I'm obsessed with them. They turned out so great!

Unfortunately I can't share ALL the pictures with you (there were over 1000!), but I will share some of my favorites!

Anyway, we got married on October 28th, 2016 and it could not have been a more perfect fall day. We were concerned about the weather because we were planning to have part of our reception outside, but God provided the most beautiful 70 degree, sunny weather for our day.

I spent most of the day getting ready with my bridesmaids. We had brunch and then went for mani/pedis. I have absolutely 0 pictures from this time but please be assured we had a blast. We met up later at the chapel after we had our hair and makeup done and finished getting ready there.

You're never fully dressed without lipstick.

We got married at the Belltower Chapel and Garden here in Fort Worth. I highly recommend this venue if you are in the DFW area! The chapel is absolutely stunning, the staff is easy to work with, and the price is extremely competitive. My favorite part, though, is that they are affiliated with the ACH Child and Family Services and 100% of their proceeds go to their foster and adoption programs. As a teacher, this is a ministry very close to my heart and I love that I was able to contribute to the cause in such a simple way while planning my wedding!

After we finished getting ready, we did our first look. I am so glad we opted to do this; it was such a special moment and the pictures are priceless!

After the first look we did more pictures with the wedding party and family. Then it was time to hide while guests started to arrive!

I got bored being locked in the dressing room until the ceremony so I started spying on what was going on outside.

The ceremony was short and went smoothly! There were a few hiccups, but because of that we were laughing and smiling in all of our pictures instead of looking super serious. I wouldn't change a thing about how everything happened.

We're married!

We had a simple dessert reception with candy, cheesecake, cookies, and other yummy sweets. The first thing we did was cut our AMAZING cake so we could go ahead and start serving it to guests. It was a simple vanilla buttercream frosting, but each tier was a different flavor cake. We had vanilla with raspberry filling on the bottom, almond cake in the middle, and Italian cream on top.

After the cake we did some mingling, then moved outside to kick off the dancing! We did the traditional first dance, father/bride dance, and mother/groom dance. Then we heard the toasts from the best man and maid of honor, and then the dance floor was open for business!

After awhile of dancing, it was time to toss the bouquet and make our exit!

We only took a mini-moon because of work and school schedules for us, but plan to take a longer honeymoon this summer. We drove to Dallas after the wedding and stayed in the lovely Hotel St. Germaine. We loved our stay and plan to go back in the future! On Sunday we went to the Cowboys game (Go Cowboys!) because what better way to celebrate your new life together than by doing one of your favorite things? (Watching the Cowboys win, that is. A great start to our marriage!)

We have been so blessed our first two months of marriage, and are so excited to see what the future has in store for us. Our wedding was absolutely wonderful, but we know that God has much, much greater things in store for us as we move forward in our relationship following him. We can't wait to see what those things are!

Happily ever after.
